Sustainable Housing Development

This elective module is taught by Mdm Mariatul Liza. The syllabus for the subject require students to study and understand the importance of sustainability to developments in our country. In this module, we were assigned with two assignments. The first assignment given is a report on selected topics regarding housing developments.We were given a list of topics to choose whereby i selected awareness on the implementation of sustainable housing development in Malaysia. The second assignment required our class to form a group of four and select a lot in Setia Alam as a proposed site for development. We had to plan and create and ideal housing development theoretically and elaborate on its provided facilities. Predicted target buyers are also one of the factors being considered in this assignment.



Learning Outcome:

This module have taught me to understand the importance of sustainability to project developments in our country. Housing developments nowadays has to be sustainable not only for the community, but also to our environment. It was also worth mentioned that our class had a very innovative and productive visit to Setia Alam to find locations to start a housing development.  Sustainable development is a development that meets the need of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own demands.
